First Lady Barbara Turner was married to Pastor in 1979, setting the stage for a life rich in love, service, and spiritual growth. Just two years later, in 1981, she embraced Christ and recommitted her life to Him, marking a transformative moment that would define her path of devotion and commitment to her faith community. As a faithful usher and dedicated member of her then church, she exemplified the virtues of service and humility, welcoming each soul with open arms and a radiant smile.
The joy of motherhood graced her life in 1987 when she conceived her first child, adding a new dimension of love and responsibility to her life.
In 1992, Sis. Barbara became First Lady, when their family was led by the Holy Spirit to our church. She embodied a beacon of strength, support, and grace for the congregation. In this role, she has served and assisted in whatever capacity the church needed, demonstrating an unwavering commitment to her faith and community.
Her servitude further expanded as with time she took on the roles of Sunday School teacher, Bible Study teacher, Superintendent, and Jubilee ministry leader. In each of these capacities, she has shown an extraordinary ability to nurture and guide, imparting wisdom and spiritual nourishment with kindness and understanding. Her teaching goes beyond mere instruction, touching hearts and inspiring minds with the depth of her faith and the breadth of her knowledge.
As a devoted, loving, and caring wife and mother, her support and strength have been the foundation of her family. Her generous spirit extends beyond her immediate family to encompass the entire church community, making everyone feel cherished and valued. Known for giving everyone nicknames, she creates an atmosphere of familiarity and warmth, drawing people closer together in a shared sense of belonging. She went from having one daughter to having an enlarged family of daughters and sons within the church.
Her passion for nourishing both body and soul is evident in her love for cooking and sharing meals. This act of service goes beyond sustenance; it is a ministry of love, bringing people together in fellowship and joy. Through these gatherings, she feeds not just the physical hunger but also the spiritual yearning for connection and community.
The First Lady's life is a beautiful tapestry of devotion, service, and love. Her contributions to her church and family have left an indelible mark on the hearts of many, making her a cherished figure whose impact will be felt for generations. Her legacy is one of grace, service, and boundless love, exemplifying the best of what it means to be a supportive wife, mother, and leader in the faith community.
