In the summer of 1992, Bishop Kenneth Turner was appointed as pastor of the Church of God of Prophecy. The Church of God of Prophecy has a rich history that began in 1980s. For over three decades, we gathered in our beloved building, fostering a strong community of faith.
However, in 2020, we faced significant challenges due to the COVID-19 pandemic and the deterioration of our church structure. As a result, we made the profound realization that the true essence of our church lies not in the physical building but in the unity and spirit of our congregation.
Under Bishop Turner’s inspired leadership, we explored various ways to adapt and grow, starting with Sunday school and Bible study. These foundational steps led us to transition fully online and rebrand as Christ United Church, an online-only ministry. This shift allowed us to continue our mission and connect with a broader community.
Our guiding principle is encapsulated in our motto: "Strong Together." We believe, as stated in 1 Corinthians 12:27 (NIV), "Now you are the body of Christ, and each one of you is a part of it." The church is not defined by its building but by the collective faith and love of its members.
